Maggie Miller
Although retired from her career as a rug hooking teacher Maggie continues creating traditional Nova Scotia style rug hooking.
New and recycled wool fabric is pulled through linen or cotton in creating Maggie’s work. She likes to use recycled wool as this is all the pioneers of this craft used. Today we continue to get satisfaction from this recycling process. Although wool flannel has become increasingly difficult to find. Maggie receives a great deal of satisfaction in creating her own colours in the dye pot. Many garish colours are transformed into usable pieces ready to be worked into her piece. This over dying and mixing of colours bring extra depth to the finished piece.
