Joanne Fitzgerald

Joanne began her artistic career when she was sixteen, working as a pottery assistant at Smelt Brook Studio. Joanne learned hands on from Dennis and Linda Doyon, former owners of Arts North. The business was lovingly passed on to her and she continues to produce high fired, functional stoneware pottery, carrying forward Linda’s designs as well as her own. Joanne works in her small studio beside her home in South Harbour, Cape Breton – Middle Harbour Pottery – alongside her son Jacob.
